HOE-LY TRINITY: Sexting Scandal Hits Simcoe!

Sexting and picture trading is apparently rampant in Holy Trinity High School and other schools in Norfolk County. No word whether Simcoe Composite, Delhi District, or Valley Heights Secondary Schools are having the same problem. Here is the story from CHCH Hamilton.

By the way parents, you should be watching what your children are doing with technology. Seriously, some people may be ruining their lives here. By the way, LMFAO at the second pic, a rage comic referring to Holy Trinity.

DDSS Demos Ahead….

The Ministry of Education has given the Grand Erie District School Board the green light on the renovations for Delhi District Secondary School. The province will kick in 1.7 million dollars for demolition and rebuilding parts of the school. Board Chair Bill Johnston says they’re looking forward to moving ahead and that everything is on schedule for work to begin this summer.

DDSS Forges Ahead - Raider Pride
DDSS is looking for help to clean up their back playing field. After the football season and regular wear, the back playing field is in poor condition. DDSS principal Shayne Mann suggests rolling, aerating, and seeding is needed. Volunteers that have the time and equipment are needed to help with this project. Anyone interested can contact the school at 519-582-0419.

Follow Up to the DDSS Reno Plans

The 1941 wing at the east end of Delhi District Secondary School could soon be torn down. The Grand Erie District School Board last night voted in favor of the DDSS Prohibitive to Repair Project with a total budget of over $1.6 million dollars. The current wing is 23,000 square feet with the replacement being only 7,300. Following the construction, the school will be fully accessible with some of the historical features of the current school preserved and placed in the library. The current capacity is 800 students, after renovations that capacity will fall to 546. The plan now goes to the Ministry of Education for approval, with demolition and construction ready to begin in June if the plan gets passed.

DDSS Forges Ahead, Albeit Smaller

At tonight’s Grand Erie District School board meeting, the future of Delhi District Secondary School is under review. A $1.6 million grant from the province is being used to demo of the oldest part of the school and construct a new library and multi-purpose room. Up for debate is how large should be after renovations are complete as enrollment trends at DDSS are scheduled to drop below 400 in coming years. Delhi’s capacity currently sits around 800 and the renovations would cut that down to 546, making the high school smaller and more cost efficient. Some trustees are asking if the school would still be too large.
