A freezing rain warning has been issued for a large stretch of area from Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge through Burlington going north towards Ottawa, as well as Huron and Perth counties. Freezing rain will be present in many of these areas this morning up until Noon today.
Motorists and pedestrians should be prepared for dangerous travelling conditions. Untreated surfaces will become ice covered and very slippery.

The guy typically seen around Brantford carrying two newspaper carrier bags picking up bottles, is rumoured to be the guy who was killed on Brant County Road 4 (Cockshutt Road) south of Brantford, Ontario on Thursday night, January 26, 2012. A 1999 Volkswagen traveling northbound towards the city struck and killed the 60-year-old man while he was riding his bicycle at about 6:20 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police closed the road until after midnight, between River Road and County Road 18 while a technical traffic reconstruction unit conducted its investigation.

Tim Hudak Calls for Appeal into Richard Smoke Sentence
Tim Hudak sends a letter to Ontario Attorney General John Gerretsen, asking him to appeal the Richard Smoke sentence. Despite nearly killing Mr. Gualtieri in Caledonia, Smoke got less than two years jail time. If this isn’t appealed, this will be the start of more Native vs Non-Native racism. My comment to Gerretsen? Do your job. You are the Attorney General, at least get an appeal going, or you and your Liberal friends are to blame for more racist tensions in Caledonia. I will follow up with a stronger post if this appeal is not done, as today is the last official day to file an appeal.
