Brantford Police have released the name of the 21 year old charged in connection with a vicious attack and rape on a woman walking in the area of Market Street South and Clarence Street on Thursday.
Daryle Wade Brown, of Darling Street, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated sexual assault.
The 24-year-old victim was walking by herself at about 2 a.m. when she was attacked by a stranger. Afterward, she was able to make her way to a nearby business in order to call for an ambulance and police.
Police say she suffered head injuries and was sexually assaulted.
Brown, who was arrested on Saturday, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or a man acting in an aggressive manner by banging against the windows of FreshCo at South Market at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday.
