Freezing rain warning issued for:
Brantford, Brant, Paris, Woodstock, Oxford, Norwich, Tillsonburg, Ingersoll, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Preston, Hamilton, Ancaster.
A couple hours of freezing rain likely tonight.
A burgeoning area of rain ahead of a low pressure system near Green Bay and a warm front from the low into the London area is moving quickly northeast and is expected to arrive as freezing rain overnight across most regions.
Precipitation may remain as rain though immediately along the shoreline of Lake Ontario where the temperature has already snuck just above the freezing mark at some locales.
The freezing rain is expected to change over to rain by morning as the winter storm centre works its way to near Sault Ste Marie, dragging the warm front northeastward across the district.
Motorists and pedestrians should be prepared for dangerous winter travelling conditions. Untreated surfaces will quickly become icy and slippery. Some roads and other surfaces may remain locally icy for a couple hours after the temperature rises above the freezing mark due to the cold temperatures experienced over the family day weekend.
