Snowstorm coming Boxing Day?

A low pressure system is expected to develop over Texas on Christmas
day and then move northeastward to pass south of the Great Lakes
region late in the day boxing day into Thursday. Such a storm track
would place Southern Ontario on the cold side of the storm, with the
potential for significant snowfall accumulations.

Present indications suggest that the snow would start in the
southwest during the day on boxing day, and then spread eastward to
reach Eastern Ontario later in the evening. In addition, gusty
northeast winds would result in local blowing snow reducing
visibilities. Conditions should improve from west to east on
Thursday.

Current indications suggest that in areas from Lake Erie across
Niagara as well as the St Lawrence Valley area the potential exists
for snowfall amounts near the warning criteria of 15 cm in 12 hours.

Snowstorm Brantford 2012

What is going on with the Brantford Expositor?

Brantford Expositor, sloppy reporting, Sort of, Brantford media, Brantford News

Two articles posted on the Brantford Expositor website leave this reader scratching his head. The First one is regarding shots fired at a biker clubhouse at Grey and William streets. Of course, at no point do they say that it’s in London, not Brantford. So while I’m racking my brain trying to figure out where Grey and William meet (they don’t), finally I see other reader comments calling the Expositor to task on lacking a city byline.

Murray and Chatham, crash, Murray, Chatham, Sheridan, Murray and Sheridan, traffic, accident

The second article is even more obvious. A “spectacular” crash occurred at Murray and Sheridan street. Except, it wasn’t Murray and Sheridan, it was Murray and Chatham. This one was reported in our own city…. incorrectly. Seriously? They had the time to make a story about how great the crash was, but didn’t have the time to look at the sign to see what intersection they were reporting on?

I have a serious problem with this. The journalistic standards of our local newspaper are deteriorating. I realize that in an era of cutbacks, reporters don’t come to every story anymore, resources are shared, etc. I get that. I don’t get sloppy and misleading reporting. Buck up, Expositor. Just cause you are the only real game in town, does not mean you can just let stuff slide.
