Flori – Durr. International Driving Permit and then No Permit.

After sending snowbirds to licence offices in a panic, Florida now says it won’t enforce a requirement for all non-U.S. residents to obtain an International Driving Permit.

Earlier today, employees at CAA offices fielded an unprecedented flurry of phone calls and inquiries from people planning to go to Florida after the surprise realization that since Jan. 1, all non-U.S. residents need an International Driving Permit.

“We were informed only two days ago, but it was on the radio today so everyone’s here,” said a harried employee taking names from those in line to get the international licence.

On Jan. 1, Florida passed statute 322.04, a new law mandating the international permit, a paper document written in 10 languages.

According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), the purpose of the new law is for everyone to have “a licence in a language that police officers can understand.”

An IDP is the internationally recognized licence people need when they rent a car and drive in Europe. On an average summer day, with vacationers going abroad, CAA-Quebec’s large office on Drummond normally issues 60 to 75 of these a day, but very rarely in the winter, the staff said.

To get an international driving licence, you need a valid driving permit, $25 and a passport-size photograph.

If you don’t have the photo handy, CAA can take one for you for $13. Grand total: $38.74, taxes in.

“The intent of the change in Florida law regarding the International Driving Permit was to aid law enforcement in Florida when interacting with drivers holding a licence in a foreign language,” a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Highway Safety said Thursday.

Three teens accused of killing Barrie man “not monsters” … Really?

Three teens charged with second degree murder in the death of a Barrie man cried in court today and said they were “not monsters.”

Jake Workman, Justin Spring, Matthew Spring. They deserve a long jail sentence.

Justin Spring, 19, his brother Mathew Spring, 18, of Innisfil, and their friend Jake Workman, 18, all charged with second-degree murder, will be held behind bars pending the outcome of a later bail hearing.

Police say the teens were charged following an altercation that ended up in tragedy after Bradley Hubbard, 42, of Collingwood was killed at the Putting Edge, a glow-in-the-dark golf course in the south end of Barrie at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hubbard, the father of seven children, was playing golf with his girlfriend and his two daughters, aged eight and four, when he was stabbed or hit with a golf club as his family watched in horror.

We feel very sorry for the family about what happened,” said the father, James Spring, shaking his head. “We are shaken over all of this, so we can only imagine what the family is going through.”

“But we want people to know that these are good kids – they are not monsters,” said step-mother Shelly Spring. “They didn’t go in there to kill somebody. They were just being rowdy and it turned into an altercation that got out of control. It never should have ended this way.”

I’m sorry, Shelly, your kids are monsters. When your kids kill a man, I don’t care what the excuse is, your kids are monsters. Your kids deserve the book thrown at them. They may not have gone to a mini putt with intent to kill someone, but they did. And they killed someone because they were asked to be less rowdy in front of his daughters? Shelly? James? Fuck your kids. They deserve a LONG jail time. They killed a man in front of his own children. End of. No amount of whining and crying gets you out of this one.

Four Tards Deal Drugs in Front of Cops – Jailarity Ensues

A note to those looking to deal drugs in Caledonia – don’t do it while police watch. Four people did just that and are now facing charges. On Friday evening, police watched as they believed drug deals were happening on Argyle Street in Caledonia. (Wait, isn’t this the street of the native terrorism is going on at DCE?) One tard was arrested at the scene after the deals went down and another ran off. About 20 minutes later, the three other suspects returned to the scene and were arrested as well. Charged are 19 year old Shawn Mount of Hamilton with trafficking and possession of cocaine; 20 year old Neil Guyatt and 21 year old Charles Overholste of Caledonia were charged with possession of marijuana; and 26 year old Adam Kupczak of Caledonia is charged with possession of cocaine. None of the four were charged with being retards for trafficking in a high police visibility area; if that were an offense, all four would be guilty.

Westboro Nuts Blocked At Border… Almost

Stockwell Day was right to authorize the border to block the retards from coming across to protest the funeral of slain Canadian Tim McLean. Unfortunately, it sounds like even though Susan Phelps-Roper got turned away, some others of the nut clan known as Westboro Baptist Church got through, according to a press release by Phelps-Roper.

Westboro Baptist Church Protesters

So, they are going to courier signs up to Winnipeg for the funeral, though they’ve decided not to hold signs stating “God Hates Canada” because she’s concerned police will arrest them.

Which is a good thing. Arrest these tards for hate speech. Here’s a Youtube clip of this nut in action:

Honestly, Stockwell, put this group on a U.S. style “no entry list” for good. I’m all for free speech, except when it is blatant and repugnant hate. I would also feel differently (though still embarrassed) if it were Canadians protesting. Canadians sending messages to fellow Canadians is one thing; but keep these American trolls out unless you are planning on jailing them here.
