On Air with Mel-K: Mondays 7pm ET / 4pm PT
MEL K (sister of dj producer Khrys Kloudz) is the alter-ego stage name of Melissa Madeline Bambi; one of the most promising young protégés to rise out of the world-renown music EDM/TRANCE of Milan.
Naturally drawn to the magic of the stage, Melissa became emphatically consumed by a burning desire to get behind the decks whilst working as an assistant to the site manager of Italian’s largest dance festival organisation. With a back-stage pass and personal insight into the revolution that has swept popular culture of its feet, it wasn’t long before she owned her first set of DJ decks. Shortly after, MeL-k was born.
“I’m just a down-to-earth girl who loves music and having fun with my friends like anyone else. When I’m Djing, I lose all self-control. In that moment, there’s nothing else in this world except the music I’m playing and the people rocking the dance-floor with me. It’s who and where I want to be.”
Playing her first show in a modest party at Cocoricò (Riccione – Italy) in June 2012, the journey has been short, sweet and plentiful. Armed with a reputation as the ultimate party starter, Melissa is a constant collector of fans, with crowds subscribing to her energetic output of influential EDM. Her mix-tapes have become the Saturday night soundtrack for the masses, heard spilling onto the streets from car stereos en route to her many residencies, which now spread stateside at some of biggest parties.
Inspired by the sounds of W&W, Nervo, Armin Van Bureen & Markus Shulz, Melissa has her targets set firmly on the art of production spending most of her waking hours in the studio. Relentless and patiently mastering the craft of digital sound design, expect some big room electro house, cross-genre, club-thumping collaborations on the horizon accompanied by the MeL-k name in the credits.
